The one downside of washing your brushes is waiting for them to dry which could take a whole day. Unless you have two sets of brushes, you have to go a whole day without using them because they need to dry. Having clean brushes is so important because you do not want to be putting bacteria and dirt back on your face day after day because of using a dirty brush. Spot cleaing is good for a few days but after that your brushes really need to be washed. Sigma has a new product called Dry'n Shape which will shape and dry our brushes in 4 to 6 hours. This is great because you can wash your brushes before you go to bed and they will be dry when you wake up. I always have a problem with how my brushes shape is held if I do not lay them properly to dry. But now with this new product you do not have to worry about that because it shapes your brushes also.
